Alan Wake sells poorly in May

Not so good news here for the folks at Remedy and Microsoft.  The somewhat anticipated and long-awaited game, Alan Wake, only sold around 145,000 copies in its May launch month.  That’s a very low number for a game that was in development for five years and had a respectful team behind it.

Want a comparison?  As 1up.com points out, Red Dead Redemption sold 1,513,000 copies in its May launch month.  That’s a huge difference and perhaps one of the reasons for the poor sells of Alan Wake.

Surprisingly, Microsoft still plans on continuing downloadable content chapters for the game.  Hopefully, in some way, the game manages to find life as it was pretty good.
