THQ using Online Pass for UFC Undisputed 2010

We’ve already heard about EA planning on doing this, but it appears that THQ has beaten them to the punch (pun intended).  UFC Undisputed 2010 will come with a special code that will need to be entered to be able to access the online features.  This is a one time only code so if you plan on selling the game to someone else or letting someone borrow it, the online features won’t be accessible.  That is, unless they buy an additional code for $5.

The arguments are that this will prevent pirates from stealing the games and using one of the main components — the online features.  Also, there has been a ton of debate for awhile over the used-games market and how this hurts the gaming industry.  By using a code to access online services and charging for additional codes, they hope to prevent a lot of these problems.

Sound fair?  I’m not so sure but it seems to be the way the online gaming world might be heading.
