Nvidia announces the GeForce GTX 480 and 470

Nvidia has announced and shown off their next set of power graphics cards.  This time coming in the form of the Geforce GTX 480 and its slightly less powerful brother, the GTX 470.

As most PC gamers will tell you, all the real power is on the PC.  Nvidia shows us just that with some remarkable specs and support for DirectX 11.  The 480 will bring 700MHz worth of graphics speed and 1,401MHz worth of processor speed.  In addition, it will have 1.5GB DDR5 onboard RAM running at 1,848MHz.  The 470 won’t be a slouch either with its 607MHz graphics speed, 1,215MHz processor speed, and 1.2GB onboard RAM at 1,674MHz.  The 480 will cost an expected $499 while the 479 will run about $349.

If you’re a heavy PC game or just love to have that power, get ready as Nvidia is planning on releasing these beasts in April.  Check out the two videos below showcasing some pretty cool stuff that Nvidia and DirectX 11 are achieving:
